چکیده

The aim of our research was to obtain porous matrices from collagen and collagen-hyaluronic acid and to investigate their effect on two types of human cells: fibroblasts and osteoblasts. In order to fabricate the collagenous matrices, type I collagen solution and a mixture of type I collagen and hyaluronic acid solutions, in a weight ratio of 5:1 were conditioned as sponges by freeze-drying. ESEM examination revealed that the resulting matrices had a porous three-dimensional structure consisting of interconnected collagen fibers. The fine layers of hyaluronic acid coated these fibers and connected with them. All porous matrices were seeded with human dermal fibroblasts and with human osteoblasts and were maintained in culture for 7 and 21 days, respectively. Histological and immunohistochemical observations indicated that human fibroblasts and osteoblasts cultivated on porous collagenous matrices migrated and attached to them. We also noticed that collagen-hyaluronic acid sponges allowed a greater cellular invasion than the collagen matrices. The ability of these porous materials to act as a good support for fibroblast and osteoblast cell cultures make them convenient for obtaining tissue substitutes.

Parametric Study on Wave Interaction with a Porous Submerged Rubble Mound Breakwater Using Modified N-S Equations and Cut-Cell Method

In this paper wave transformation in a submerged sloped breakwater and its hydraulic performance was simulated by developing a numerical model in Fortran. The code was established by combining porous flow and a two-phase model using VOF method. Modified Navier-Stokes and k-ε equations implemented to the model to simulate the flow in porous media. Cut cell method was modified to simulate...

Co-Culture of Mesenchymal Stem Cells with Mature Chondrocytes: Producing Cartilage Construct for Application in Cartilage Regeneration

Background: Cell-based treatment approach using differentiated mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and mature chondrocytes has been considered as an advanced treatment for cartilage repair. We investigated the differentiated level of these two cell types that is crucial for their repair capacity for cartilage defect at a co-culture micro mass system. Methods: Passaged-2 MSCs isolated from the mouse b...

New Method for Preparation of Nano Alumina Powder Using Aluminum(III) Complexes by Combustion Synthesis Without Fuel

Alumina nanomaterials were synthesized via a solution combustion technique using tris-(acetylacetonato) aluminum(III) complex (1) and tris-(2-formylphenolate) aluminum(III) complex (2) at 600, and 1000 °C for 3h. The obtained data showed that the procedure without using fuel resulted in a better phase and morphology. To investigate the phase formation, powder X-ray diffraction technique was use...
